| Schoolhouse Software entered the educational software market in 1981 with the introduction of The Apple II GradeBook. Since that time we have continued to develop grade book programs for both Apple and PC computers. The current PC GradeBook for Windows and The Mac GradeBook are the culmination of 22 years of research and development. Robert K. Bane is the owner of Schoolhouse Software and has been the program concept developer for all of our grade book programs. He is a retired Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration at the University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas where he taught for 36 years. He holds a bachelors degree in Secondary Education, a masters degree in Elementary Education and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Formerly, he taught fifth and sixth grades in the Denton and Irving, Texas public schools. Over the years he has worked with hundreds of teachers as a college supervisor of student teachers. Dr. Bane developed the first grade book program to meet his own personal needs. He succeeded in developing a program that communicates with teachers and not just other computer programmers. Throughout the past 27 years he has continued to refine and embellish the grade book programs using the input of hundreds of teachers. The programs he has developed include features that teachers really use and excludes complicated features that his experience has shown him that teachers simply do not use. This has resulted in programs that are very easy to use yet extremely powerful. |
